Burning rubber Ο Rosberg νικητής μετά από έναν αγώνα με αρκετά συμβάντα Στην εκκίνηση, ο 3 ος Vettel κατάφερε εύκολα να περάσει τον Rosberg και να βρεθεί πίσω από τον pole man, Hamilton. Με τον Alonso αρκετά πίσω, ο γερμανός πρωταθλητής έβλεπε να εξελίσσεται θετικά ο αγώνας. Ειδικά όταν είδε ότι το πίσω αριστερό ελαστικό του Hamilton (όπως συνέβη στον ίδιο γύρο και στον Massa), τότε όλα έδειχναν να είναι με το μέρος του! Όμως το κιβώτιο της Red Bull είχε αντίθετη άποψη, αναγκάζοντάς τον να σταματήσει στην άκρη της πίστας και δίνοντας την πρωτοπορία στον Rosberg, που την κράτησε μέχρι να δει την καρό σημαία. Μόνο μονοθέσια κινούμενα από μοτέρ της γερμανικής εταιρείας συμπλήρωσαν το σημερινό βάθρο, αποδεικνύοντας έμπρακτα την υπεροχή των ομάδων της Mercedes και της McLaren σε αυτόν τον αγώνα. Τα πράγματα για την ομάδα της Mercedes θα ήταν ακόμα καλύτερα, αν δεν είχε ένα λάθος στο πιτ στοπ του Schumacher, όταν δεν τοποθετήθηκε σωστά ο μπροστινός δεξής τροχός, πράγμα που ανάγκασε στον γερμανό να εγκαταλείψει. Αλλά και έτσι, η Mercedes κατάφερε να κατακτήσει μία νίκη μετά το πολύ μακρινό 1955! Μάλιστα αυτή η νίκη του Rosberg, ήταν η πρώτη της καριέρας του, στο 111 ο GP που πήρε μέρος.
