Constructors' Championship If we could exclude Red Bull from the game, we would have enjoyed a nice battle between Mercedes, Ferrari and Lotus. Unfortunately the Austrian team was far too good (they won 13 races, all with Vettel), so the rest of the grid fought for the second place. At the end, Mercedes claimed second place after changing places with Ferrari for a few times. The German team won 3 GP's, the last of them was at Hungary, before Vettel started his winning spree! The Scuderia only managed to win 2 races, while Lotus claimed victory at the first GP of the season. So if we take into account the victories each team scored, the final standings would be the same (at least for these 4 teams)! Fair result!

Drivers' Championship At the beginning everything seemed to be OK. 3 drivers were fighting for the title until the GP of Hungary, when Hamilton won the race. At the end of that GP Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen were separated by just 39 points. A difference quite small and manageable. Everybody knew that Red Bull had the best car, but no one could imagine that Vettel will win all the races of the rest of the season... We can see how the difference escalated on the graph below (click to enlarge).
