The Year of Mercedes It was an interesting season in Formula 1. The Mercedes was dominant from the beginning until the end. But fortunately, the management of the team let the two drivers (Hamilton and Rosberg) battle for the title. So, speaking on behalf of all F1 fans - I believe - I would like to thank the German manufacturer which didn't give team orders as Ferrari used to do in the Schumacher era. In the following graph you can see how close the battle was... Apart from the drivers of the silver arrows, Ricciardo made a great season. He was the only one to win a Grand Prix, besides Hamilton and Rosberg. The smiling guy from Australia, won 3 times and finished third in the drivers' championship. Another good young driver, Bottas, shined this year. The Finn finished 6 times on the podium and claimed fourth place in the championship. 2012 επισκόπηση Αν και αυτή τη χρονιά είδαμε για ακόμα μία φορά την πλήρη επικράτηση της Red Bull και του Vettel, η σεζόν είχε μπόλικο θέαμα. Το πρώτο που φαίνεται από το διάγραμμα που ακολουθεί, είναι ότι ο γερμανός πρωταθλητής ήταν στο πρώτο τρίτο του πρωταθλήματος κοντά στον Alonso. Όμως, από τον ευρωπαϊκό αγώνα μέχρι το grand prix της Ιταλίας ο Vettel έκανε μία κοιλιά στην απόδοση, με αποτέλεσμα η διαφορά με τον Alonso να κυμαίνεται στους 40 βαθμούς περίπου. Βέβαια οι 4 συνεχόμενες νίκες που πήρε ο Vettel σε Σιγκαπούρη, Ιαπωνία, Κορέα και Ινδία, τον έφεραν σε πλεονεκτική θέση. Ο ισπανός, έχοντας υποδεέστερο μονοθέσιο, έκανε ό,τι μπορούσε, αποδεικνύοντας τη σπουδαία ικανότητά του, αλλά τελικά αυτή δεν ήταν αρκετή. Στους κατασκευαστές, όλα ξεκίνησαν ιδανικά για τη McLaren, αλλά η συνέχεια δεν ήταν η αναμενόμενη... Για τους 3 πρώτους αγώνες, η αγγλική ομάδα κρατούσε τα ηνία, όμως τα πολλά σκαμπανεβάσματα και οι εγκαταλείψεις από μηχανικές βλάβες την έριξαν στην τρίτη θέση το...
